Bowie First Southern Baptist Church, located at 412 S. Central Ave, Bowie, Arizona, has been part of the Bowie community for more than 30 years. The church was officially incorporated on April 30, 1992, continuing a tradition of small-town worship and fellowship that existed in Bowie long before formal registration.

As one of the few active churches in Bowie, Bowie First Southern Baptist Church has served local families, ranchers, railroad workers, and neighbors across the San Simon Valley. Over the years, the church has been supported by dedicated local leadership, including early officers such as Janice Grizzle, and later Robin Ragan and Shelly Myers, who helped maintain the church’s operations and community presence.

The church reflects the broader story of Baptist life in rural Arizona — small congregations rooted in frontier towns, shaped by fellowship, service, and the desire to gather and worship together. Today, under Bud’s leadership, Bowie First Southern Baptist Church continues that mission with Sunday services, community outreach, and a welcoming atmosphere for anyone seeking a place to grow in faith.
